ALTER TEMPO

ALTER TEMPO is a pop rock duet formed in 2006 by Kike Pineda and Roberto Rubio, two young and talented Peruvian musicians and composers.

The name of the band "ALTER TEMPO" comes from the Latin word "ALTER" which means "other" or "alternative", and the italian word "TEMPO" which means "time". On the other hand "ALTER" means "altered, modified" in English and "TEMPO" the speed at which music is or ought to be played. In such sense ALTER TEMPO means "a different speed and time of music" depending on the chosen combination.

Born in Lima (Peru), Kike and Roberto began singing since they were very young and went gradually developing their musical abilities. In June, 2005 Roberto and Kike joined efforts and talent to form ALTER TEMPO. Since then, both musicians started planning their future as a band composing and playing their own music into more ambitious projects.

ALTER TEMPO's music is influenced by a wide range of styles such as Beatles' styled rock, bolero, trova, jazz, heavy metal, gospel and a variety of latin grooves. The main theme of their songs is everyday love, "a feeling everyone experiences but no one can define with precision" says Roberto.

Currently ALTER TEMPO has recorded four singles: "Para estar contigo" (To be with you), "Gracias" (Thank you), "Tu voz en el viento" (Your voice in the wind) y "Libre" (Free), which can be streamed and downloaded for free in MP3 format directly from their website: http://www.altertempo.com

ALTER TEMPO believes in the free and flexible distribution of their music through the web. This explains why in July, 2006 they became the first Peruvian artists to license their music under the just launched Creative Commons Peru licenses. As ALTER TEMPO members remark "Creative Commons is the best way to share your music with freedom along the web but keeping also commercial control of your works". The duet's music is licensed under a Attribution-Non Derivative-Non Commercial Creative Commons Peru license.

ALTER TEMPO: Primer dúo peruano en utilizar las licencias Creative Commons  Peru

ALTER TEMPO es un dúo de Pop Rock formado en febrero del 2006 por Kike Pineda y Roberto Rubio, dos talentosos y jóvenes músicos, compositores y vocalistas nacidos en Lima - Perú. Ambos cultivaron las artes musicales desde muy pequeños de manera intuitiva y espontánea. Se conocieron en junio del 2005 y su gran afinidad musical pronto los convertiría en buenos amigos.

El nombre del grupo proviene de la palabra latina ALTER que significa, "otro" o "alternativo", y la palabra italiana TEMPO que significa "tiempo". Por otro lado, ALTER significa "alterar, modificar" en inglés y TEMPO significa "la velocidad de una pieza musical" en inglés. Por lo tanto ALTER TEMPO significa "Otro tiempo", "Otra velocidad de la música", "Alterar el tiempo" o "Alterar la velocidad de la música" dependiendo de la combinación utilizada.

Roberto y Kike empezaron a cantar desde muy pequeños y fueron perfeccionando con mucha disciplina sus habilidades musicales. Con el correr de los años, entre idas y venidas, fueron moldeando sus objetivos y madurando musicalmente hasta definir lo que realmente querían hacer: crear sus propias canciones, cantarlas y tocarlas.

ALTER TEMPO está influenciado musicalmente por un rico espectro de ritmos y estilos que van desde la música de los Beatles, pasando por el Bolero, la Trova, el Jazz y el Heavy Metal hasta el Gospel, la música latina o el Rock Hispano de los 80's. La temática preferida del grupo es el amor cotidiano, aquel "que todos experimentan en algún momento pero que nadie puede definir con exactitud", según Roberto.

Hasta la fecha llevan grabados cuatro sencillos: "Para estar contigo", "Gracias", "Tu voz en el viento" y "Libre", los cuales pueden ser descargados gratuitamente en formato mp3, desde el sitio web del dúo: http://www.altertempo.com

ALTER TEMPO cree en la difusión libre y flexible de su música a través de la red. Ello explica porque en julio de 2006 se convirtieron en los primeros artistas peruanos en utilizar las licencias Creative Commons Peru. Como indican los propios integrantes de ALTER TEMPO "Creative Commons es la mejor manera de compartir tu música con libertad a través de la red compartiéndola sin perder control comercial sobre la misma". La música del dúo se ofrece bajo una licencia de Reconocimiento- Sin Obras Derivadas-Uso No Comercial, lo que implica que cualquier persona puede descargar sus canciones siempre que reconozcan sus créditos como autores, no realicen obras derivadas de ellas y no les den un uso comercial.
